Therapy

By talking to a trained therapist, young people can begin to make sense of a range of complex feelings and emotions which can relieve underlying unhappiness, worry or distress. Some issues young people might face which can be helped in therapy include anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, self-harm, friendship and relationship difficulties, social media addiction and many other difficult emotional experiences. Psychodynamic psychotherapy can be particularly helpful when it seems hard to make sense of what might be going on. Therapy takes place weekly at the same time and the number of sessions is usually discussed together during the assessment.

Therapeutic coaching

Finding a path in life can feel overwhelming at times. A more forward looking approach than the healing sense-making of psychotherapy, therapeutic coaching can give young people an opportunity to get to know who they are, what matters to them and how to achieve this. Using a solution focused brief therapy model, young people can be supported to identify life goals and work towards them. This can be a highly motivating and positive experience and is more usually a six to eight session model.
